After our stop in Burlington, we drove east across the state to attend meditation classes at Karme Choling. It is a beautiful area, with many forest, rivers/streams, deer, birds, etc. I had some time off from my class and explored the nearby towns, went birding and kayaked on the lake by our campsite.
In Burlington, we visited the Lake Champlain Chocolate Company factory. This owl is made entirely of chocolate.
This is a few from our campsite at Lake Harvey. The weather was different every day: some days were hot and humid, others cold and others were just perfect. This was our first morning and there was low fog everywhere.
I went to the Victory Basin Wildlife Refuge to look for birds. This was the "trail'. At times, there were huge trees across it; a machete would have gome in handy. And the bugs! I did see a few interesting birds.
Fortunately, the second trail at the refuge was easier to navigate and ran alongside some beautiful bogs.
