While visiting my sister Jayne, we spent a day in Philadelphia. We were impressed with the city. There's the history, of course, but also lots of art, interesting neighborhoods, universities, and of course, Philly Cheese Steaks.
This is where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. Cool.
A big mystery surrounds the famous Liberty Bell: are these two people mother/daughter or sister/sister?
The other side of this building (technically, the back) has the famous steps that Rocky Balboa ran up in the original Rocky movie starring Sylvester Stallone.
Under renovation, but very beautiful. Statues around the top were made by one of the Calder family of artists (i.e. Alexander Calder who did the famous mobiles and stabiles.)
Larry, our National Park Ranger guide, talks about the court room in Independence Hall.
The room where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. All items in this room (except for Larry) are from around 1776. Only one object shown was present in this room when the documents were actually signed. Can you guess what it is?
I guess Ben is still collecting rent. What letter can be added to this sign to make it into an example of childish potty humor?
