Scenes and birds from Florida: Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, the Keys, Everglade National Park.
We ate at the Columbia Restaurant. It is Florida's oldest restuarant, and the worlds largest Spanish restaurant. (I didn't fact check this. I'm assuming they're being truthful.)
It started as a small corner cafe, and now can serve 1400 people at once. The restaurant expanded by taking over adjacent bulidings, so it is made up of many unique and interesting dining rooms.
The food is good as well.
This is the view from our campsite in Key West. We were just feet from the ocean. Unfortunately, because of the oppressive heat and humidity, we couldn't hear the water over the air conditioner's hum. However, we did hear the thunder from one of the many storms that blow through periodically.
Found these Egrets while looking for Key Deer. The Key Deer are small and only inhabit a few islands in the keys. They can swim between the islands and are very friendly. Or so we hear, since we didn't actually see any of the deer.
These beautiful trees bloom in Florida for only a month. We were fortunate to see them.
